Singapore , June 2009 - Elisra, recognized worldwide as a standard setter in EW, is known for its proven air and ground forces PAWS systems IR solutions to detect and identify missile threats. Now Elisra is drawing on this robust, highly effective technology to provide civilian airports as well with powerful protection.
Drawing on its all-in-one concept for cost-effectively integrating multiple capabilities, Elisra’s IR solutions offer:
- Missiles, Rockets and Small Arms Fire Detection and Warning
- Seamless integration with modern countermeasures (i.e. DIRCM, IRCM and CMDS)
- Situational Awareness
- Collision Alert
- Shooter locator
The integration of these powerful capabilities into one suite does away with the need for multiple sub-systems on airborne platforms, thus saving space, weight and considerably reducing costs.
PAWS for air and ground applications
PAWS is the cornerstone of the first and only family of operationally deployed and combat proven EO self protection suites which uses Staring IR Missile Approach Warning Systems for protecting attack and support helicopters, fighter and transport aircraft, civilian cargo and commercial passenger and combat vehicles as well as tanks, AFVs, APCs and more.
PAWS state of the art systems are using wide FOV IR sensors with advanced expert-system processing capabilities. These features allow PAWS to analyze incoming missile IR signatures, and warn pilots or vehicle crews of direction, type and Time To Impact. PAWS can automatically cue directional IR countermeasures (DIRCM) as well as activate the on-board Chaff and Flare Dispensing system.
With its unique SAPIR enhancement, which provides true IR panoramic (360 degree) day and night visibility and collision alerts even in adverse weather conditions, PAWS brings pilot or driver safety to new dimensions. The entire IR line of products – including the new G-Force – features superior ultra-accurate real-time identification of incoming missile direction, even when launched from a short range.
The PAWS Family The first and only family of operationally deployed Staring IR Missile Approach Warning System, consists of the following: PAWS – A combat proven solution for “low and slow” platforms Elisra's innovative Passive Missile Warning Systems enhance helicopter and transporter survivability by incorporating state of the art IR detection technology together with expert system processing to provide timely and accurate protection against incoming missiles.
PAWS-2 – the first combat-proven IR protection system for fighter aircraft is also the first operationally proven solution for the F-16I deployed by the Israel Air Force. Selected for a variety of fighter aircraft, PAWS-2 is unique among platform protection systems, providing simultaneous and multiple threat detection, tracking, and discrimination. LORICA Elisra's specially adapted commercial version of the PAWS family of IR Missile Warning System, the LORICA detects and tracks threatening missiles and activates onboard lamp-based or laser-based countermeasures. TANDIR A unique protection solution for frontline combat vehicles – MBTs, AFVs and APCs, TANDIR integrates Elisra’s day and night incoming threat detection systems into ground combat vehicles.
The TANDIR system has exceptional capabilities for ultra-fast, high precision, multiple and simultaneous threat signature identification, tracking and detection. Equally effective at night as it is during the day, TANDIR greatly enhances combat platform survivability in the battlefield.
