Shipborne Receiving Statio

Overview

The battle Proven Shipborne Receiving Station (SRST) represents the most advanced technology for gathering and processing imagery intelligence (IMINT) in real time. It is already operational in several of the world's most advanced navies. The system significantly enhances commander capabilities to see beyond the horizon. The SRST receives telemetry and video images from airborne Aerial Vehicles (AVs) including UAVs, fixed and rotary wing aircraft, etc. and displays them on a B/W video display monitor. Frozen images can subsequently be processed (off-line) and displayed on a high-resolution color graphics monitor (OGD).
The OGD displays digital maps correlated to real-time video images, which can be used for operations, mission management and orientation in the battlefield.

Highlights

Imagery and Data are used for intelligence purposes and decision making. To facilitate implementation of mission tasks, the SRST equips the user with tools for evaluating and analyzing the received image and telemetry information.
Downlink Information transmitted by the AV is decoded and enhanced with relevant telemetry information vital for better understanding of the displayed image and mission. The AV's Downlink is received by means of a pair of stabilized Antenna
Subsystems (AS) which overcomes problems of coverage, raised by the structure of the ship itself. The AS auto-tracks the AV's RF signal, receives the RF signal and then converts it into baseboard video and telemetry data. The stabilized AS comprises a rotator,
RF Receiver, Dish and Omni Antennae, all covered by a Radom for environmental protection enabling system operation in Level 3 Sea State. Received video may be enhanced and manipulated (off-line) via functions such as video freezing, archiving and image processing.
Digital Map provides battlefield terrain orientation by displaying the "plots" of the airborne sensors' location. Maps are stored in the system at several scales factors (1:100,000, 1:50,000 and 1:25,000 or others) in a local magnetic media and cover an area of 100Km x 100Km (configurable according to the customer's requests). New maps may be loaded in the field by means of a LAN interface from an external digital map source e.g., "Map Loader" Laptop computer.
Sensor Reception Each SRST (up to two) installed on the ship is capable of receiving one airborne sensor. The two SRSTs can receive different sensors simultaneously, without interfering with one another. Sensors are adaptable to virtually all platforms and protocols. The SRST can switch between different airborne sensors i.e. AV, Downlink protocols.
